Computer Literacy

Basic computer skills are necessary to improve the opportunities of the undeserved on fundamental needs such as applying for a job

Clients who have taken the computer literacy class have learned the skills necessary to apply for jobs. They are also able to keep up with their children’s school work on school portals. These classes are taught by Community Health Choice Employees.

Computers have become a part of everyday life requiring that computer skills are mastered in order to qualify for many job opportunities.  Students learn how to use the internet, email, and they learn how to search online.  Some students learn how to access their children’s school portal.

An IT Specialist and a translator from Community Health Choice provide their volunteer services at ECHOS to offer a computer literacy class.

In the class, students are taught to build a marketable resume, preparing them for jobs. Also, they receive assistance applying for job certifications tests taken online.
